You bought a guitar to punish your ma, and you didn't like school, and you know you're nobody's fool, so welcome to the machine.

Nobody's fool - Someone who cannot easily be fooled, or taken advantage of. Т.е.

I can't get a girl 'cause I ain't got a car. I can't get a car 'cause I ain't got a job. I can't get a job 'cause I ain't got a car. So I'm looking for a girl with a job and a car. Don't you know where you are? Lost in America… I got a mom but I ain't got a dad. My dad's got a wife but she ain't my mom. Mom's looking for a man to be my dad. But I want my mom and dad to be my real mom and dad. Is that so bad? Oh, I think I've been had. Lost in America…Well, I live at the Seven 11. Well, I'm trying to play this guitar. Well, I'm learning "Stairway to Heaven" 'cause Heaven's where you are. I can't go to school 'cause I ain't got a gun. I ain't got a gun 'cause I ain't got a job. I ain't got a job 'cause I can't go to school. So I'm looking for a girl with a gun and a job. And a house with table. Don't you know where you are? Lost in America.

Best known guitar riffs in rock-n-roll

-Pass the carrots please. - May I be excused, please? -Yes dear... {"Tell me not to play. Well, all I got to say to when you tell me not to play I say No! No! No! No!"} -What is that? {"So, if you ask me why I like the way I play it ...} I know what that is... {There's only one thing I can say to you} that’s music! {I wanna rock!} -Douglas C. please... he is just a child... -Don’t Douglas C. me... {I wanna rock! There's a feelin' that I get from nothin' else and there ain't nothin' in the world that makes me go. Go! Go! Go!} - Alright Mr. what do you think you are doing? You call this a room? This is a pigsty! I want you to straighten up this area now! You are a disgusting slob! Stand up straight! Tuck in that shirt! Adjust that belt buckle! Tie those shoes! Twisted Sister? What is that? Wipe that smile off your face! Do you understand? What is that? A Twisted Sister pin on your uniform??? What kind of a men are you? You are worthless and weak! You do nothing! You are nothing! You sit in here all day and play that sick, repulsive, electric twanger! I carried an M16 and you... you carry that... that... that guitar! Who are you? Where do you come from?? Are you listening to me? What do you want to do with your life? - I wanna rock! "We're not gonna take it. No, we ain't gonna take it. We're not gonna take it anymore. We've got the right to choose and there ain't no way we'll lose it. This is our life, this is our song"

Electric twanger – это просто электрогитара, но в данном случае намек на «гунделку», так как есть глагол to twang = to speak or sound with a nasal intonation.

Where do you come from?

Hello, students! School has begun. The summer is over. I am in command. What was that? For that littlie outburst each and every one of you will spend three hours in detention today immediately after school in the basement. What do you think you’re doing? Twisted Sister? What kind of a man desecrated the defenseless textbook? I’ve got a good mind to slap your fat face. You are destroying your life with that… THAT… that garbage. All right, Mister Sister. I want you to tell me. No, better yet, stand up, and tell the class. What are you wanna do with your life? – I wanna rock!

Некоторые пояснения. to have a good mind to do something = твердо решить делать что-либо

Далее, to twist – «крутить», но можно и слова ‘to twist’ (искажать).  «Кручение» телом дало миру этот стиль танца

Come on everybody! Clap your hands! All you’re looking good! I'm gonna sing my song. It won't take long! We're gonna do the twist. And it goes like this: come on let's twist again like we did last summer! Eah, let's twist again, like we did last year! Do you remember when things were really humming. Yeah, let's twist again, twisting time is here! Hey, and round and round and up and down we go again! Oh, baby, make me know you love me so. And then twist again like we did last summer, come on, let's twist again like we did last year! Twist! You! Who's that, flying up there? Is it a bird? No! Is it a plane? No! Is it the twister? Yeah!

Not of the norm. Used to describe persons or situations or things that are somewhat eccentric; maniacal, mad, psychopathic (Urban Dictionary)

"What have we here, laddie? Mysterious scribblings? A secret code? Oh, poems, no less! Poems, everybody! The laddie reckons himself a poet! Money, get back , I'm all right, Jack . Keep your hands off my stack. New car, caviar, four-star daydream. Think I'll buy me a football team. Absolute rubbish, laddie! Get on with your work! Repeat after me: "An acre is the area of a rectangle whose length is one furlong and whose width is one chain".

Furlong = measure of distance equivalent to 660 feet, 220 yards or 10 chains. Chain is a unit of length equal to 66 feet (22 yards). To recon – считать, полагать.

Daydream: a series of pleasant thoughts that distract (отвлекают) one's attention from the present.

Wrong, do it again! If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat? You! Yes, you! Poems, no less, everybody. The laddie reckons himself a poet!

This is actually wrong, it's a common mistake. What they're referring to is actually Yorkshire pudding which is the yummy bun like pop over that is served with the meal (Quora).

This Saturday marks 25 years since Pink Floyd released the album "The Wall". Some of the recognizable voices on the album and in music history come from the group of English school children. They were never paid for that job. But as Anderson Cooper reports that could be about to change. When Pink Floyd needed a few more voices for their anti-school anthem, "Another Brick in The Wall Part Two”, their engineer called on some kids from a local school. And with the help of the school's head of music .... The album was a hit, selling 23 million copies. But when the band sang the song on Britain's Top the Pops and when "The Wall" was made into a music video, something was missing. The kids were left out in the cold, replaced by students from a local drama school who lip-synced the lines. Pink Floyd pocketed a pile of money from the album. The school got a 1,000-pound donation to its music program. That's about $2000. And the singing school kids? Well, they got a copy of the album and tickets to a Pink Floyd concert and not a penny in compensation, until now.

be left (out) in the cold=To be ignored, forgotten, or excluded, as from a group, activity, benefit, etc.

Your turn! All right! You'd better go ... Well we got no choice. All the girls and boys making all that noise. 'cause they found new toys. Well we can't salute ya, can't find a flag. If that don't suit ya that's a drag. School's out for summer. I can't hear you! School's out forever. School's been blown to pieces. No more pencils. No more books. No more teacher's dirty looks. Well we got no class, and we got no principles, and we got no innocence). We can't even think of a word that rhymes. School's out for summer. School's out forever. My school's been blown to pieces. No more pencils. No more books. No more teacher's dirty looks. Out for summer. Out till fall. We might not go back at all. School's out forever. School's out for summer. School's out with fever. School's out completely.

That’a drag: phrase used for showing distaste for a situation. Mostly used for something that disrupts pleasurable (often illegal) activates, or requires too much work (Urban Dictionary).

He liked the idea of hearing children's voices on songs about school. In this song, they sing the children's rhyme "No more pencils, no more books, no more teachers' dirty looks."

У Алиса Купера есть «младший брат» - Marilyn Manson He says the difference between him and guys like Marilyn Manson is that he leaves the crowd in a good mood. His shows are meant to be fun, not depressing.

Standing for the national anthem has been part of the pre-game ritual for American sport for a century. - Singing the national anthem and watching events. - The president appeared to say the words wrong during the national anthem.

20 million years ago, an ape-like creature inhabited the Earth. And the ape stood, and became man. The greatest calamity that could befall early man was the loss of fire. Fire, the mysterious phenomenon that cooked his food, heated his cave, and kept him alive. If he could not start a fire, he and his would surely die. Even in most primitive man, the need to create was part of his nature. This need, this talent, clearly separated early man from animals who would never know this gift. And here, in a cave somewhere in the North American continent, about two million years ago, the first artist was born. And, of course, with the birth of the artist, came the inevitable afterbirth. The critic. In the year one million BC, it is thought the first Homo sapien marriage occurred. It was shortly followed by the first homosexual marriage. One of the first weapons man invented was the spear. In ancient times, man was ignorant as to the cause and nature of death. So death was greeted with a certain degree of awe. But because man did not have the time for complicated rituals, funeral services were often brief. Even in early man, the need to laugh was vital for emotional survival. Music began long before it was formalized into notes and phrases. For mankind, it began with an accident. Gunga heard the sound and liked it. Gunga begged Gowie to repeat the beautiful scream, but Gowie could not. So Gunga thought and thought, and finally he found the answer. And so, music was born. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

"Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school" - Albert Einstein. You know, when one of the most intelligent people to ever live on the planet says something like this, then perhaps there is something horribly, horribly wrong with the basics of education. School, we all know it! We spent a significant chunk of our lives gradually ascending through the ranks while hopefully picking up basic knowledge like the alphabet, simple maths, and how to read. Unfortunately, this idea is a lot more simple on paper than it is to apply to the real world. You know, to real humans who all learn differently and who are all individuals. And here is where the essence of the problem of school in general lies: the emphasis and obsession with academic ability through the use of rigorous testing, reporting. More rigorous testing more reporting, and topped off with a tad(чуток) more rigorous testing and reporting, does nothing but prove how school is designed around how it looks on paper. I never personally had any real trouble in primary school, but I do specifically remember infatuating myself with scores, grades and levels. I wanted to have the highest level. Not because it was important to me to do well, no primary school kid cares about that, but more because I just wanted a higher score than my friends and colleagues. Like it was a game: a leaderboard for judging and comparing my worth with everyone else's. Of course I wasn't quite that self-aware and I was nine years old, or even thought about it at all really, but I still did it. The point is, school is not about learning for knowledge or intelligence, it's about preparing and memorizing a bunch of useless facts for moronically specific and closed-minded test, so we can dictate, predict and set stupid targets for the sake of the school's name, and to appease the governing bodies that settle the ludicrous rules for the poor teachers to enforce. In the UK, we start school at four years old. The mentality is that the earlier you start, the more you can cram into their little brains to speed up the learning process. This is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Do you remember what you cared about when you were four? Me neither. But it certainly wasn't how to read a clock with Roman numerals on it. Of course so many kids are put off the idea of school. We tried to teach children things they're not developmentally capable of doing. What is the fucking point of teaching seven and eight years about the possessive apostrophe or how to column subtract? It's nothing but unnecessary stress for both the students and the teachers, who have no choice but to enforce it. Speaking of the teachers, they don't half have one of the most difficult and clusterfucked jobs in existence. First off, they don't only have to work with virtually no resources or budget to help them, but one teacher is expected to support and provide for upwards of 30. Ыtudents for the course of one year. Not to mention the positive slant they have no choice but to put on everything, which in turn unfairly doesn't apply to them as well. So an endless amount of teachers are stressed beyond belief. This even applies if the kid is a fucking stupid idiot who doesn't care. "Sorry Preston, you failed the test but don't worry, don't worry. But please don't worry, you're super kind and not overweight! You'll do better next time." Can you imagine having to write a positive report about those kids who are the biggest shitheads in the world? It's actually pretty backwards the way the troubled kids get more support in the end, as in when they disrupt the class, cause commotion, or just generally piss people off they then get all the energy throwing their way just for the sake of shutting them up, and your normal, thoughtful, quiet, perfect student who listens and does what you ask of them, takes a side seat to the fuckwit who won't stop making fart noises with their mouth. The urge for the teacher to say something like "Hey, listen, you little fuck. Can you do us all a favor and shut your mouth and pay attention please ?" Must be unbelievable. It's always super fair when the asshole kids get rewarded just for not being an asshole, when all the non-asshole kids have to actually put effort and work into being noticed. The middling kids who don't fit into any of the extremes and are being invisible, and that sucks. Do you remember how pathetic and muted everything potentially dangerous was when the school was in charge? "Hey kids, don't you even think about doing anything fun. Like climbing that awesome looking tree over there, or even having a run on the grass because you might fall over and your parents will sue us and we have no money as it is." It's like we spent the first 10 years of their lives training and to be prissy wimps, then when they get to secondary school the entire script has flipped on its head and everyone and everything is violent and twattish to you, as you get a glimpse of the real world is like. I really love the first 16 years of your life completely dictate the rest of it. You know, the years when you're the most stupid and naive and don't care about anything. Now, none of this is to say that school isn't important because it is Kiteman: NYEEEH I didn't go to school and look how I turned out! IHE: That isn't helpful to me at all. I just think the way we go about it is moronic and backwards and ultimately completely unhelpful to a large portion of the kids who go. When one in five adults can't even read or write, doesn't that prove that the system has kind of fucked them just because they might not respond to the Victorian idiotic way of teaching the basics to kids? There is a reason Steiner and Montessori schools are sought after and work. I'm not knowledgeable enough myself to suggest ways to improve it, but there are plenty of people out there who are. But if all of this is so transparent and blatant to someone such as myself, then isn't that evidence enough that the system needs some pretty drastic changes to make it not completely stupid? You know what, education system? You let me down, you let the school down, but worst of all, you let yourself down. (Music plays) So those are my filtered thoughts on the large complicated subject that is schooling. Little bit more serious than my usual videos. But it's actually about something important, so who cares? So what do you think about school? I know education is very different from country to country, we all have our strengths and weaknesses and whatnot. So how was it for you? I'm genuinely curious, tell me in the comments below. And as always, thanks for watching all comments and ratings are very much appreciated!

School is probably the most important place of our childhood, but unfortunately it has been the worst xperience of my childhood, I literally hated school back then I was going to school and I still hate it until day although that it has been pretty long time since my graduation and I am certain that most of you hate it as well. And if time travel would be real, I would go back in time and stop myself from going to school. Its not because my school was bad, I studied in 3 different private schools and I hated them all for the same reasons. Most of the schools today are useless institutions where we waste our childhood and here is why! Grades are what made me hate school in the first place, every single day I was worried to get a bad grade, you have no idea what does it means to get a bad grade when your parents are obsessed with grades. 1 bad grade literally means that bad news are waiting for you at home. Do you really think any kid would be motivated to go to school when he consistently has to worry about grades. As a kid I never viewed school as a place that would make me a better and smarter person but rather the place where I had to constantly find ways to cheat so that my teachers and parents would be satisfied with my grades and I would not be expelled from my school. The school system doesn’t recognises that kids are different and everyone’s worth is measured by these grades, especially in math and science. What if someone is simply good at acting, yes he might not be good at solving algorithms, but he can become a successful actor. What if you are good at playing soccer, yes you might not be able solve complex math problems, but you can become a successful soccer player. But schools do not even recognise these talents as real life talents that can be useful in life. All what matters are math and science. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that math isn’t important, but not everyone is good at that, exactly like not everyone is good at singing.  Why not completely get rid of grades and make school the place where kids come and learn new things every day, they would not have to constantly worry and memorise some useless facts only to pass that test, so that they can finally have the time to learn what will really help them in life! I think most teachers don't really understand their job in school, they view themselves as the person who delivers information to kids, which doesn’t really make sense, because whatever information you can think about is out there on the internet. I am not saying that teachers are useless, but I think they have to serve a different mission. Their job is to inspire kids about what they are teaching, they have to constantly find more interesting ways to make the class more attractive to kids. Standing up there and simply repeating the same thing over and over doesn’t make any sense. In fact, thats boring, that even pushes kids away from school and makes school seem as the most boring place in the world. I hated many of my teachers back then in school for one simple reason! They hated me first because I wasn’t getting good grades like other kids and wasn’t always doing my homework because I had different interests that were not valued in school. Of course that increased my hatred to school and education in general and I am sure that a lot of kids are running through the same thing. Definitely not all teachers are like that and there are many great teachers as well, but I think the role of teachers should be completely reshaped! The entire school system is absolutely worthless. Schools are trying to teach you as much information as possible and what I hated even more is that, we had to learn again the same information that we have learnt last year because we certainly forgot everything already. And guess what will happen next year, we will forget everything again and we will have to learn the same things again! why waste our entire childhood constantly memorising a bunch of useless facts over and over that we will forget anyways! The primary goal of schools should to help kids to develop skills that will help them for the rest of their life. Imagine if school helped you to discover your strength and weaknesses, Imagine if school helped to figure out what you are passionate about, you would not waste the next 5 years of your life trying to become a doctor and then finding out that this is not what you want to do for the rest your life. Imagine how different your life would be if you would came out of school, and you knew exactly what you are good at, you knew exactly what you are passionate about. Thats exactly what I am talking about. And thats how schools should be in the 21st century! I am sorry that this video was entirely negative. I am sure that there are many positive things can be said about schools, but in all honesty, the modern school system is completely outdated and doesn’t prepare kids for the 21st century and it should be completely reshaped! One more disclaimer: the point of this video is not to convince you to drop out of school, but rather to make you understand you don't have to bother much about it, if you aren’t getting good grades, don't underestimate yourself, never think that your worth is measured by these useless grades. Discover your strengths and passions and entirely focus on them, because thats what will make you successful in life. And now its your turn, How was your experience in school? Lets me know in the comments below!

Like all of you, I have been in school as well and unfortunately it wasn't the most pleasing experience. School simply takes all of our childhood, its the place where we spend 12 years of our life and I am confident that these 12 years can be used much more effectively. I mostly talked about my personal experience in this video and would love to know yours as well!

I hate school. Not because of grades. Not because of the repeating of work. It was my mental health literally being destroyed constantly. since my first school through now at high school, my life has been made hell by teachers, students, myself and my mental health . In year 8 of middle school I got diagnosed with anxiety and depression. BECAUSE OF SCHOOL. I was bullied since the start of high school by multiple groups of people. My self astem has went down the drain. I attempted suicide and now self harm . I don't see the point in school anymore. It's fucking bullshit.

I hate school because it beats the creativity out of you. They make you do everything one way and everything else is wrong. Your just not allowed to think by yourselves and if you do you get a bad grade for it. And every year in math they add a new equation or unit to the cariculum. Something else to memorize and forget and never use. Even my math teacher agrees with this.

Schools have been created by governments. And governments have always been working on keeping people under control.

I've always hated school ever since i was born into this world. I wish they could teach us thing that are actually important and can help us in the future but instead it's the other was around. I wish they could help the students find their passion which will help them a lot the life.

That's what i am saying to my friends... School is killing our creativity, we don't want to be professors, we don't want to be researchers. For me I just want to be an entrepreneur. Others want to be dancers, athletes... School doesn't support us !!
