Tomsk State University, a national research university, founded in 1878, is one of Russia's leading classical high educational establishments. Its mission has always been to fulfill the ideals of science, education and culture on the huge territory of the Asiatic part of Russia. TSU developed as an elite educational institution, uniting teaching and research, delivering academics of the highest class. The university was oriented toward the development of industrial production in Siberia, and played a greater role in the coal, metal, aluminum and oil industries as well as in the founding of Siberian universities and a Siberian division of the Russian Academy of Sciences. TSU is listed in the state's register of specially valued objects of cultural heritage. Today, TSU is a gigantic research and educational complex, is home to three research institutes: the Siberian Botanical Garden, and a nationally renowned Research Library. It's teaching research staff includes more than 350 doctors of science and 900 candidates of science, among whom there are 23 members of state academies of science and 43 laureates of state prizes in science technology and education. Over 23,000 students are being educated at 23 faculties, institutes of TSU, in addition to 800 graduate and doctoral students in Exact and Natural Sciences and Humanities. The interdisciplinary character of teaching, innovative methods and technology, and the ability to create one's own study program, enable our graduates to create their own career paths. Our education is closely linked to active research activity. From the first year of studies students get not only a quality education, but have the opportunity to conduct research under the supervision of leading academics as well as participating in the creation and production of new technology. TSU’s long-standing history of top-level research has cemented its worldwide reputation. 43 of its scientific schools have been included in the presidential list of leading scientific schools of Russia. We are a member of the European Association of Universities, under a top 500 universities of the world and the Times University Rating. One of only five Russian universities to make the list.
Ours was one of the first universities in Russia to begin innovative activity having established its first Innovation Center in 1994. Nowadays, TSU’s innovation infrastructure is home to more than 100 divisions including research and educational centers, a business incubator and much more. In 2006 TSU was one of the winners of a Russian competition for innovative educational programs. This provided a great impulse to the university to solidify its role in the international academic community. In 2010 Tomsk State University was awarded of the status - a National Research University, confirming its leading position in Russia and internationally. Key areas for development, which are the following: nanotechnology, information, telecommunications and super computer technology, conservation and bio systems, space and rocket technology, social and human science and technology in a modernization of the economy and social sphere. The university has much to be proud of in the last year. We won a governmental competition for financing in high-tech production developing our innovation infrastructure and attracting leading world academics. In collaboration with Gazprom Space Systems a department was opened which will provide graduates for the company. And as part of the Russian super computer network, TSU became one of five national coordinating centers, so far the only one east of the Urals. 27 small enterprises form part of the university's innovation belt, including MANEL – a joint enterprise with RUSNANO and EleSy, with the largest registered capital in Russia of 145 million rubles. TSU’s leadership position is evidenced by having won support for 156 projects as part of the federal program “Skilled Workers”. Everything we have achieved is due to the combination of research traditions, education, attention to our students’ talents, and a never-ending search for something new, while always moving forward. An interesting and prosperous life awaits those talented young people, who come to our University. For TSU believes that all changes and innovations exist, so that young specialists can be ready to accept new things and build their future with certainty.

No, if you listen very careful I actually read ‘founded’. But because it rolls quickly into ‘in’, the final syllable all but disappears. This phenomenon called reduction, if I remember correctly (I’m not a theoretical linguist by nature).Regarding my narration, if you have any doubts (i.e. if you don’t believe me), replay it slowed down (I suggest at around ¼ the natural speed) and the final syllable is easily heard.

I don't hear it either.

It is his language, he does it later in the text too. His pronunciation is not consistent in his past tense verbs, sometimes his "ED" is clearer, sometimes not. Even when he says "Universities" sometimes he pronunciates the 'T' clearly, sometimes he "gobbles" it.

I found a couple of things I will need to re–listen to. The language changes from third person to first person eg. The university v/s we. Some of the text is in the third person. Eg. “the University”. Some of the text is in the first person “we”
